My strengths as an interpreter
I am a sociable person by nature, which is very helpful in my work as an interpreter, because good communication is our top priority. As an interpreter, I have to ensure that the entire conversation runs smoothly, and you can only do that if you have the perseverance to make the conversation run well and be as understandable as possible.
About me (place of birth, native language, other details)
I was born and raised in Baghdad, Iraq, in 1998. I was able to study there until the first year of secondary school, but unfortunately I was unable to finish because we had to flee and leave the country due to the poor situation in Iraq. In 2012, I came to the Netherlands when I was just 14 years old. I was able to continue my studies here and eventually chose to become an interpreter because there are other people who really need us.
Diplomas and certificates
In 2022, I took the interpreting course at SIGV, but because they went bankrupt, I didn't get the opportunity to complete my course. After a while, I took the interpreting skills and notation technique course at KTV and successfully completed it. I am now registered for a practical exam, which will take place in November. I have been working at GlobalTalk since March 2024. At first, I worked for them as a trainee interpreter, and now, for about three weeks, as a regular interpreter, which means I have a language certificate and can also be deployed for government tenders. I am also registered on their emergency list.
