I consider working as an interpreter not only an earning opportunity, but also a great passion. It gives me the freedom to fully focus on the work that gives me the most energy, such as working with and for others while working independently and taking full responsibility for my performance and actions. Furthermore, I am open-minded, curious, flexible, driven and highly professional.

About my interpreting experience

Since coming to the Netherlands, I have regularly been in situations where an interpreter or mediator with good language skills was needed, but not always available. For many years it has given me pleasure and energy to be able to help other people when the language or lack of language knowledge gets in their way. Therefore, in 2019, I started my university studies in Dutch language, history and culture at Leiden University. Already within the program my focus was mainly on communication, language acquisition, interpreting and translation skills. In the meantime, I became a sworn interpreter Polish-Dutch at the C1 level.

About me (place of birth, native language, other details)

I was born and raised in Poland. When I was 19, I came to the Netherlands with a plan to earn some money and return to my homeland. In the end, however, I chose to build my life in the Netherlands, study here and start a family. Together with my Dutch husband and our son, I lived in a few different places, which allowed me to experience Dutch culture in its diversity for myself.

Credentials

I hold a bachelor's degree from Leiden University in Dutch language and culture. I am also registered in the register of sworn interpreters and translators (wbtv number 40723).
