VerifiedMy strengths as an interpreter
I adhere to the Code of Ethics. I have good focus and interpret conversations 1:1 without additions. My assessment states that I have a pleasant manner as an interpreter and inspire trust in clients (in the practical case study). My specialisation is Community Interpreting. For Community Interpreting, I am sworn for Dutch-Ukrainian. I also have full command of the Russian language.
About my interpreting experience
My experience is broad, I do assignments for: GPs, local councils, police, defence, courts, rehabilitation centres, UWV, sheltered workshops. Various diverse topics: breaking bad news, job coaching, interrogations, out-of-home placement, rehabilitation of a Ukrainian soldier, mother with a sick child, training soldiers. I accept assignments that are scheduled. If it suits, I also take on assignments at short notice. Usually this involves nighttime matters for the police or hospital A&E.
About me (place of birth, native language, other details)
I was born and raised in Kyiv. I came to live in the Netherlands 20 years ago. I am familiar with Ukrainian and Dutch culture. This has the advantage that I can assess situations well. I take part in focus groups at the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Justice and Security. This keeps me sharp on developments in regulations regarding, for example, civic integration.
