My strengths as an interpreter
I am a native English speaker who understands a variety of different accents and is able to quickly grasp what a speaker intends to say, making me valuable in a simultaneous interpreting setting. I am also highly empathic and in court or bilateral settings will take time to ensure the client has understood everything that is said.
About my interpreting experience
I have been an interpreter since 2009 and been court sworn since 2016. Since 2016, I have also worked for various market research companies, interpreting medical and cultural studies on a variety of topics, while also working in court settings on diverse cases.
About me (place of birth, native language, other details)
I was born and raised in Birmingham, UK. I moved to Berlin in 2002, where I have lived ever since. In 2006, I completed a vocational training course as a paralegal and upon completing the course, I used the knowledge of the German legal system to help foreigners navigate the bureaucratic jungle and translate contracts and legal correspondence. In 2016, I passed the state accreditation exam as an interpreter and in the same year was sworn in in court in Berlin.
