My strengths as an interpreter

I strive to give an accurate translation and am very clear in my communication. I am also able to share knowledge about culture if it influences the translation. For instance, group 6 in Iraq is different from group 6 in the Netherlands.

About my interpreting experience

I am an interpreter for the languages English <-> Dutch and Kurdisch Kermanji <-> Dutch for Tolk2Go and Global Talk. I have been working with Global Talk for the past year.

About me (place of birth, native language, other details)

I was born in northern Iraq, and moved to the Netherlands when I was 2. My mother tongue is Kurdisch Kermanji, but I have been living in the north of Friesland which means I am also a speaker of Frisian.

Credentials

As for English: I have obtained a bachelor's degree in English Language and Culture, a master's degree in teaching. I have taught at all levels of education (midde school, MBO, HBO and university). For Kurdish: I am a native speaker with knowledge of spoken language and culture. I am also currently finishing my studies at KTV to further specialize as an interpreter. As for Dutch: I have studied Dutch at university level and taught Dutch at the University of Sheffield in England.
