My strengths as an interpreter
I am a motivated and accurate interpreter with a strong social commitment. For the past four months, I have been working as an interpreter at Global Talk, where I am gaining professional experience with telephone interpreting services, video conferences, and on-site interpreting assignments. Prior to that, I worked intensively as a volunteer interpreter from the start of the war in Ukraine. During this period, I supported Ukrainian clients in a variety of situations, including hospitals, schools, and social organizations. This experience has taught me to interpret carefully, empathetically, and contextually, even in sensitive and emotional circumstances.
About my interpreting experience
My interpreting experience has been largely gained through practical work. Since the start of the war, I have been volunteering as an interpreter, assisting Ukrainian refugees in their communications with Dutch authorities and educational institutions. I have also regularly volunteered as an interpreter in hospitals. I currently work as a professional interpreter through Global Talk, providing interpreting services by telephone, video conference, and on location.
About me (place of birth, native language, other details)
My native language is Russian (C2). I learned Ukrainian from a very young age. From the age of three, I came into intensive contact with Ukrainian through my family; my grandmother speaks Ukrainian, so I picked up the language from an early age. From the age of seven, I formally learned Ukrainian at school and later deepened my knowledge during my university studies. My current level of Ukrainian is C1. I have been living in the Netherlands since 2008. During this period, I have taken several Dutch language courses. My most recent course was a Dutch language course at level B2 at Babel. In addition, I have worked exclusively at the Center for Youth and Family and in the after-school care program (afternoon care) at school.
