My strengths as an interpreter

As an interpreter, I believe accuracy, neutrality, and confidentiality are essential to my profession. Reliability and integrity are at the heart of my work. I switch seamlessly between the two languages and ensure that everything that is said is conveyed to the other party without any additions or omissions.

About my interpreting experience

From a young age, I have played a connecting role within my community, regularly interpreting for family and friends in various informal settings. This has helped me develop a keen sense of nuance, context, and cultural differences—skills that are essential in professional interpreting. I am aware of the importance of accuracy, neutrality, and confidentiality in interpreting. This also aligns with the role I play in education as a Dutch language teacher. Although I have little formal interpreting experience within professional organizations, I have extensive practical experience in multilingual communication.

About me (place of birth, native language, other details)

As a professional who grew up bilingual (Turkish-Dutch), I am fluent in both Dutch and Turkish at an advanced level, both verbally and in writing. Driven by this intrinsic interest, I consciously chose a career in education. Since 2018, I have been working as a Dutch language teacher, a role I continue to fulfill with great dedication and passion at a vocational school where I teach Dutch. In this role, I have gained extensive experience in conveying information clearly and accurately, conducting difficult conversations, switching between language levels, and guiding people from diverse backgrounds.

Credentials

I have held a teaching certificate for Dutch since 2021. I also earned my interpreting certificate from DAFA-opleidingen, which means I am a certified Turkish-Dutch interpreter.
