My strengths as an interpreter

My greatest strengths are an excellent command of Polish and Dutch, strong communication skills and the ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Thanks to professional experience gained working as a BOA officer and in the police, I can remain professional in difficult and stressful situations. I am responsible, patient, discreet and resilient under stress. I can listen attentively, convey information clearly and accurately, and take linguistic and cultural differences into account. I attach particular importance to confidentiality, reliability and impartiality.

About my interpreting experience

Although I don't yet have an official interpreter diploma, I have plenty of experience communicating in Polish and Dutch. During my work as a BOA officer and in the police, I gained experience in conducting interviews, explaining procedures and communicating with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. I'm familiar with Dutch legislation, administrative procedures, and the rules of professional communication and handling confidential information. I'd like to use my knowledge of both languages and my professional experience working as a freelance Polish-Dutch interpreter, while continuing to develop my qualifications in this field.

About me (place of birth, native language, other details)

I was born and raised in Poland. Polish is my mother tongue. I have lived in the Netherlands for over 21 years, so I have an excellent command of Dutch and a thorough understanding of life in both countries. My professional experience is mainly in public administration, security and law enforcement. I worked as a BOA officer, and then completed vocational training with the Dutch police. Thanks to living in the Netherlands for many years and my professional experience, I have a sound understanding of the cultural, linguistic and social differences between Poland and the Netherlands. I am communicative, committed, responsible and open to new challenges. I care about helping people communicate effectively and overcome language barriers.
