About me (place of birth, native language, other details)
Born in Woudenberg (NL), Province of Utrecht. Mother tongue Dutch, "father tongue" Frisian. Because of this bilingual (passive) early on, I did not notice whether Pake and Beppe spoke Frisian or Dutch. At secondary school I spoke fluent German quite quickly. At the teacher training college in Utrecht I learned to use German perfectly. Therefore I also know the structure very well. My wife has German as her mother tongue. With the children, German was and is the dominant language. Of course, I also speak English at a high level. Out of my own interest I also work as a guide on an ad hoc basis, where my studies in history also come in handy. I also work as a freelance trainer in the investigation world.
Credentials
Bachelor degree in German and history and teaching qualification. 2nd bachelor title after completing interpreter/translator training at ITV in Utrecht (specialization interpreting). Sworn interpreter German Dutch and Dutch German, listed in register Wbtv under no. 10085.
