I am someone who radiates calmness and is good at connecting people. I often get these compliments from interlocutors. I am a good listener and always let people talk.

I have experience as a tape interpreter, government interpreter, police interpreter and writing interpreter. In 2015, I started working as a part-time Cape Verdean/Portuguese interpreter with the police as support in various PGP investigations. I have also worked as an interpreter with the Royal Military Police in drug-related investigations. In 2018, I made the decision to start interpreting full time and as a self-employed interpreter.

I was born on 21.01.1959 in Sao Vicente (Cape Verde Islands). My mother tongue is Cape Verdean/Portuguese. When I was 13 years old, I left my family for Portugal. After living in Portugal for a year, we came to the Netherlands in 1972. I was a dependent secretary by profession, but the fact that I always feel called to connect people made me decide to work as an interpreter. My character traits of being flexible, empathetic, representative, honest and reliable come in handy in my work as an interpreter.
