My strengths as an interpreter
As an interpreter, I ensure a complete and truthful representation of the message - from source language to target language - with respect for the content, context and intent of the speaker. Ukrainian and Russian are my mother tongues. Thanks to my background and sensitivity to language and culture, I know how to convey nuances accurately, even when the conversations are fragile or complex. I regularly work for hospitals, mental health services, schools, and institutions such as Nidos, the Child Protection Council, lawyers, notaries and the police. I also work for the Legal Aid Board, courts and in immigration law. In every conversation I strive for clarity, trust and connection - even when words seem to fall short.
About my interpreting experience
I have been working as an interpreter and translator on a sporadic basis since 2005. In 2022 I worked with VluchtelingenWerk Nederland, where I was able to use my language skills in often emotionally charged situations. Since 2023, I have worked as an interpreter for various organizations, including Globaal Tolk, Acolad and Elan. In addition, I provide translations for BigWord. In addition to my work through intermediary agencies, I also work directly with clients. For example, I am regularly engaged by notaries, individuals and institutions in the education sector.
About me (place of birth, native language, other details)
I was born and raised in Ukraine, where I lived until 1999. At the age of 20 I came to the Netherlands alone, while my family still lives in Ukraine. Through the experiences in my life I have developed a strong, communicative personality, which enables me to have open and sincere communication with people from different backgrounds.
