I am very flexible and people-oriented. In addition, I have spoken Portuguese and Dutch since childhood -I grew up in Brazil, but at home we spoke Dutch- therefore I consider both languages my mother tongue. This is a great advantage for an interpreter and translator.

I have been working for over 10 years for a wide variety of clients with an even greater variety of subjects. For example, I work for many government agencies -Police, IND, Courts, etc.; domestic and foreign trade unions; Embassies; individuals; NGOs and companies. A small sample of the subjects I have already worked with: cooperative banking systems, didactic materials, aesthetic dentistry, all kinds of deeds, inland water transport, cheese production, criminal law, sustainability of big cities, acquisitions of family businesses, etc. etc.

I, Femmy Salomons - van Eldik, am the person behind Salomons Language Services. I am a daughter of Dutch people living in Brazil. I was born and raised in the countryside in the south of Brazil. Later I went to study in the capital of the state of Paraná, Curitiba. In 1999, I moved to the Netherlands. Here I completed my Spanish interpreter and translator studies at the Hogeschool voor Tolken en Vertalen, ITV, in 2009 and 2011 respectively. In between, I also lived in Portugal for a few years, giving me the opportunity to get to know the differences and similarities between the two varieties of Portuguese very well. Because of my Brazilian-Dutch background, I have always lived in a world where two very different cultures-with all that that entails-and two languages coexisted. Switching between languages, and conveying the same message with different words has therefore become second nature. In my work, I use this skill to offer my clients the best possible product, whether it is interpreting, translation or language training. I am a member of the Dutch Association of Interpreters and Translators -NGTV- and I am listed in the Register of Sworn Interpreters and Translators.
