My strengths as an interpreter
I have been working as a freelance translator and interpreter since 2004. What I often hear from clients is that one of my strenghts is my ability to deal with all sorts of emotions during jobs. I always stay calm and I know how to take on the right attitude and tone for that person.
About my interpreting experience
I mostly work in court and for the police, and in the social sector, where it's mostly translating simultaneously. And for one of my biggest clients, I have to translate consecutively, and sometimes also cabin interpreting. And I have done other cabin interpreting jobs as well in the past for other clients. I also translate during driving exams here in Belgium (the practical exams) and in the Netherlands for the theoretical exams at the CBR.
About me (place of birth, native language, other details)
I was born in Belgium and I have been living in Maasmechelen my entire life. And since Maasmechelen is close to the border with the Netherlands, I have also worked in Maastricht regulary as an interpreter (UVW, Limburgs Gouvernement, CBR, Lumière cinema). My mother tongue is Dutch.
Credentials
I have a Master Degree from Lessius in Antwerp ******* 0) and a degree in 'Corporate Journalism', also from Lessius in Antwerp ******* 0). I also obtained the certificate to work as a social interpreter in Belgium and I have been a sworn translator and interpreter since 2005.
