My strengths as an interpreter
I am an experienced Arabic-Dutch interpreter with three years of practical experience, specializing in working with refugees. With extensive language knowledge and cultural sensitivity, I play a crucial role in communication between Arabic-speaking refugees and Dutch agencies. My expertise and empathy ensure that I act not only as an interpreter, but also as a bridge builder between different worlds, which is essential for understanding and supporting the needs of refugees in their new environment.
About my interpreting experience
As an experienced Arabic-Dutch interpreter I have now worked for several years for organizations such as the Safety Region Zuid/oost Brabant, COA and the municipality of Nijmegen. In this role, I mainly interpreted for refugees who needed support in their daily lives. My work has enabled me to build a crucial bridge between the Arabic-speaking community and Dutch agencies, contributing to better communication and understanding. With my expertise, I ensure that language is not a barrier and that the people I help have access to necessary assistance and services.
About me (place of birth, native language, other details)
As an Arabic-Dutch interpreter, I was born and raised in the Netherlands, with parents originating from Iraq. From an early age, I was given both language and culture from home, which has given me a deep and natural command of Arabic language and culture. Later in life, I further immersed myself in various Arabic dialects, which I now master as well as the Iraqi dialect. Furthermore, I also lived in Morocco for 2 years. As a result, I speak the Darija (Moroccan, Algerian and Tunisian dialect).Fortunately, I have been able to put this expertise to use for several years in my work as an interpreter, where I happily and diligently share my linguistic and cultural knowledge.
