Experienced court interpreter. Since 2012 working as interpreter in cooperation projects between Cape Verde and Police R Rijmond and the Public Prosecutor's Office.

About my interpreting experience

I graduated from interpreter-translator training in 1998 with Portuguese as my mother tongue Dutch as my first language and Russian as my second language. I was sworn in 1999 by the Court of Rotterdam. I have been working as an interpreter-translator since 1998. My specialization is legal but I do a lot of police work (cooperation Cape Verde - Netherlands). I work a.o. for Police Rotterdam Rijnmond. I used to do a lot of interpreting for asylum seekers and nowadays I do a lot of integration work (private assignment).

About me (place of birth, native language, other details)

I was born in Cape Verde on the island of São Vicente. I may say that I have 2 mother tongues: Cape Verdean ( Cape Verdianu) and Portuguese. In recent years I have lived in Cape Verde and taught integration courses abroad. My specialization is legal and I have a lot of knowledge and experience with immigration law IND procedures divorce etc.

1994-1998- HBO Interpreter-Translator Maastricht Certifcaten- allerlei in the context of mandatory training activities for interpreters-translators Family Law Immigration Law Institutional Knowledge. Procedures and Jargon The legal status of nationals- foreigners refugees and nationals Civil Procedure Law Criminal Law etc. Medical Terminology Certificate from the Rotterdam Police in the context of my work during a major investigation and many others.
