My name is Belend, I am 48 years old, born in Iraq and have lived in the Netherlands for 27 years. I see myself as a bridge between different languages and cultures. I like to explore life, the human mind, spirituality and other cultures and religions. This has given me a lot of knowledge about philosophy and psychology. I also teach yoga for 5 years in a yoga center and here too I have a broad knowledge.Interpreting and translating has become second nature to me because I speak many languages, have traveled extensively and have lived in several countries. Besides my mother tongue Kurdish Sorani, I have an excellent command of Arabic and especially the Standard Arabic, Iraqi, Syrian, Lebanese, Jordanian, Palestinian and Egyptian dialects. The other languages I master are, Dutch, English, Farsi, Turkish, Italian and Greek. Finally, I would describe myself as a social person who is open to the others and to the other cultures. I have passion for interpreting and translation and I am convinced that I can be a valuable contribution to Talk2go

I have years of experience translating conversations and texts in multiple languages; this has always been on a volunteer basis. This was the reason I decided to take the interpreter training at KTV. I successfully completed this training and am now a sworn interpreter. During the training, I worked for the University of Utrecht as an interpreter and translator for Syrian families participating in academic research.

I was born in northern Iraq. My native language is the Kurdish language-the Sorani dialect. Because I completed havo in Iraq, I also master standard Arabic. And through my dealings with Arab friends, I also learned the Iraqi dialect well. And I have in the Quick pich the multiple languages and dialects area that I speak.
