I can listen well, move quickly and then interpret accurately while maintaining the required interpreting skills such as independence, neutrality and confidentiality.

Officially, I started as an interpreter/translator Portuguese-Dutch and vice versa on July 1, 2023, but in fact I have been interpreting informally for 35 years.

I was born in Angola (then a Portuguese colony) in 1966. My mother tongue is Portuguese. At an early age I learned English, French and later German before coming to the Netherlands when I was 22 years old. By now I have lived in the Netherlands for 35 years. Here I have held various positions with various organizations. The last more than 21 years as consultant social domain with work as expertise within the Municipality of Gouda. In this capacity, I regularly interpreted and translated.

In Portugal, in addition to the Certificate of Proficiency in English, I obtained a university degree in International Relations at the Technical University of Lisbon. In the Netherlands, I obtained all kinds of certificates in migration and asylum law, NLP, motivational interviewing, etc. In September 2023, I obtained the certificates of interpreter Dutch>Portuguese and vice versa and of translator Dutch>Portuguese. On November 23, 2023, I was sworn in.
