My strengths as an interpreter

As an interpreter, my strengths include in-depth cultural knowledge of Dutch, Arabic as well as Kurdish culture. My experience and understanding of these cultures enable me to communicate effectively and convey nuances correctly. In addition, I am proficient in both Arabic and Kurdish Kurmanji, allowing me to interpret and translate fluently between these languages and Dutch.

About my interpreting experience

With over 8 years of experience, I work as a freelance interpreter for various agencies, including Dutch Public Broadcasting, various municipalities, agencies and interpreting agencies. My versatile background enables me to interpret effectively in different situations and contexts.

About me (place of birth, native language, other details)

Being born in Iraq and raised until the age of 17, I have a deep understanding of Arabic and Kurdish culture. As a result, I am well versed in the nuances of the language and can communicate fluently in Classical Arabic and Kurdish Kurmanji.

Credentials

I completed a BA and MA in Political Science at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. In addition, I have English test TOEFL at C1 level. I am currently in the process of being sworn in as an interpreter.
