About my interpreting experience
My name is Samer Qamr Aldin and I am an experienced interpreter and translator with a strong background in supporting newcomers to the Netherlands. Ever since my arrival in the Netherlands I have been working as a volunteer and professional interpreter for various organizations, including VluchtelingenWerk, the Municipality of Amsterdam and other municipalities. What sets me apart as an interpreter is that I have translated English myself for many years and have therefore developed a keen sense of language, nuance and culture. Because of my current work with newcomers, I am involved on a daily basis in guiding people in conversations with healthcare institutions, lawyers, government agencies and other social workers. I am reliable, clear in communication, and know the importance of supporting people in an understanding and respectful way. My commitment is always professional and human - I help not only with language, but also with understanding.
